SCHOLARSHIP SCAM ALERT!!!

Some students have recently received a notice from the COLLEGE FINANCIAL ADVISORY organization encouraging them to complete the CFA profile form to apply for financial aid for the 2009-2010 school year. There is a $49 fee to use their services.
These companies cannot do anything more than you can do on your own, free of charge. By using the information available to you on the Internet, you can identify and apply for all types of financial aid funds. Try www.fafsa.ed.gov and www.finaid.org. These are great sources of financial aid information. And, of course, the professionals at the Office of Scholarships and Student Aid here at UNC are here to answer any questions you have about financial aid. Please report to us any possible scams or predatory financial aid practices.
